Presenting several Iranian historical and architectural sites damaged during the on-going US/Israel war on Iran, this panel examines the conditions for restoration and explores how lessons from other countries’ experiences in heritage conservation might inform and support efforts in Iran. Organised by AIS, this panel reflects the association’s commitment to recognising its responsibility to respond to moments of collective suffering in Iran.

Dr Ladan Akbarnia, Head of Curatorial & Professor of Islamic World Collections, The Fitzwilliam Museum, University of Cambridge;
Dr Farshid Emami, Associate Professor of Art History, Rice University;
Dr Moya Carey, Curator of Islamic Collections at the Chester Beatty Library; and
Dr Khodadad Rezakhani, Research Scholar at the Institute for Iranian Studies, Austrian Academy of Sciences.
