The Iranian Diaspora Studies Dissertation Award is granted biennially by the Assocation of Iranian Studies on behalf of the Center for Iranian Diaspora Studies at San Francisco State University to the author of an exceptional Ph.D. dissertation (completed and defended within 2024-2025) that investigates topics connected to the global Iranian diaspora. Dissertations written in languages other than English are accepted if they are accompanied by a condensed translation of chapters into English. This award is established in honor of the final year of the Center for Iranian Diaspora Studies and to support its vision to support new research and scholarship about the global Iranian diaspora to expand our understanding of transnational experiences and to developing interdisciplinary approaches to this emerging field. AIS is now calling for nominations for dissertations completed between May 2024 and November 2025.
