Reception of the ancient world in 19th and early 20th century Iran, history of photography and picture postcards and their political/social importance, museology and archival studies, vernacular art and architecture of Qajar-period Iran, political and social history of Iran and the Middle East, history of the music recording industry and its artistic/social aspects, the Persianate world, socio-cultural transactions/relations between the Middle East and the West.
