Natalia Chalisova is Professor in Persian Literature at the Institute of Oriental and Classical Studies, Russian State University for Humanities, Moscow. Her research interests are primarily in history of Iranian literature of Premongolian period and in traditional literary theory with particular focus on the conventions of poetic imagery and on the hermeneutical problem of understanding Persian poetry. N. Chalisova has also written on reception of Persian poetry in Russia and on the problems and strategies of translation.
