Antiquity of Kurdish Dress Presented via Sanjar Khan’s Series

The Kurds of Iran are one of the oldest cultural people on earth and among their customs, one can still find the use of elegant Kurdish garments and clothes. Preparing and wearing Kurdish traditional dresses date back to thousands of years ago. In addition to Kurdish traditional clothing, people still use special jewelry and accessories designed by Kurds appropriate to the type of clothing.
In recent years, the new generation pays attention to the well-known Kurd figures; one of these individuals is Sanjar Khan Vaziri (death 1919) who took charge to protect Kurdistan against Russian during the reign of Naser Al-Din Shah Qajar (1831-1896). In this regard, last year, the production of Sanjar Khan series began. A significant part of this series was designing and sewing clothes, which included that of noble, ordinary, and warriors. The purpose of this presentation is to discuss the antiquity of Kurdish dress as a part of the culture of this region in the form of Sanjar Khan’s series.
