Academic Profile
I received a masters degree in English language and literature from the University of Tehran in 1981. During 1981 to 2003 I taught English language and literature, world literature, and Persian literature at Iranian high schools, Tehran international high school, IB diploma program, and undergraduate colleges in Iran. Since 2003 I have been in the PhD program at the department of Comparative Literature- University of Washington, specializing in Textual Studies program.In the meantime I have been a teaching assistant in Persian as well as Film Studies programs (department of Comparative Literature) ,and have taught two Persian language and literature courses in the department of Near Eastern Languages and Civilization. Currently I am revising my dissertation with the working title of "The Editing of Chahar Maqaleh (Four Discourses): Mohammad Qazvini, Persian Textual Criticism, and the
Discourse of Iranian National Identity in the Modern Era (1857-1941)". I am also teaching Persian as a TA at the University of Washington.
