Academic Profile
Roxane Haag-Higuchi specializes in Persian literature, literary history and cultural history from the early 19th century until present. She completed her PhD in 1984 with a thesis on traditional Persian story-telling. She has been teaching Persian language, literature and history of the 19th and 20th centuries at Bamberg University, Dept. of Iranian Studies, since 1989. In 2009 she obtained the Venia Legendi in Iranian Studies. Her Habilitation thesis portrays the early Qajar poet Yaghma Jandaqi in the socio-political context of his time.
