Academic Profile

I teach history of the Modern Middle East and the Islamic civilization as general topics. I am fascinated by Iranian religions and their roles in politics. My research focuses on the role of Shi'ite ulama in Iran during the Constitutional Revolution of 1906-11. Syracuse University Pressed published my monograph titled: "The Iranian Constitutional Revolution and the Clerical Leadership of Khurasani" in March 2015 which won the First Best First Book Award of the National History Honor Society in 2016. "Iranian Women and Gender in the Iran-Iraq War," is my next book due out in 2020.
