Reza Zia-Ebrahimi

Academic Profile

Reza Zia-Ebrahimi is a historian of ethnicity and nationalism, with particular focus on Iran. His research has so far concerned itself with the intellectual history of nationalism in Iran. He is especially interested in the racialisation of Iran's history and the adoption of the Aryan discourse, as strategies to escape Iran's perceived backwardness vis-à-vis Europe. Reza Zia-Ebrahimi is an alumnus of the University of Geneva, the London School of Economics, and the University of Oxford (St Antony's College). He currently serves as Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in History at King's College London.
