Dr. Sedighi is professor of Persian and Persian section head at Portland State University. She served as the inaugural associate editor of linguistics for the Journal of Iranian Studies (2019-2023). She also served as the president of the American Association of Teachers of Persian (2014-2016) and sits in the Executive Board of the National Council on Less Commonly Taught Languages (NCOLTCL).
